Why jump on it is important
founded by Charles “NOOK Turner” Byrd, Dorothy Turner & Sharon Ellerby in 1997
Jump On It specifically unites youth and their families under the auspices of live national & local entertainment. It is an experience that highlights the arts as well as the availability of valuable health & life resources.
Our mission is to rebuild the fabric of Austin’s DIVERSE community while creating a platform to educate and prepare tomorrow’s leaders!
Youth from Parks & Recreation programs, City of Austin Summer Youth Employment and local teens were taught financial literacy, yoga & successful character building. They were also mentored by college & professional athletes as well as numerous community leaders that included the Police Activities Legue Program (PAL).
